Not Just For Adults
Most people think of the chiropractor as only treating adults. But this is far from true, children have spines and nervous systems just like adults and need treatment just like adults do. In many cases chiropractic procedures can be even more essential for children because they are developing and growing and so it can be pertinent to fix a problem during this stage. The spine is the first to develop in the womb. Through the process of growing, learning to crawl, walking and then kids just being kids there are numerous chances to injure or misalign the spine. This is why it is so important for children to see a chiropractor.
Fixing an issue while children are growing can prevent the problem from turning into a bigger problem when they are older. For example if a person has spinal issues when they are a young and it is never looked at, then later in life it can cause spinal degeneration, which can cause many other problems in their adult life.
Subluxation is when there is a slight misalignment of the vertebrae. Sometimes this is referred to a “blown fuse”. This can interfere with the body’s normal processes. In children this can cause numerous problem such as: trouble sleeping, reflux, bed wetting, asthma, ear infections, and neck or back pain. Chiropractors can treat this a lot of the time by simply do a spine adjustment and letting the spine heal itself once it is aligned.
Chiropractic procedures are commonly used for children because of the natural noninvasive practices. It is a good approach because it can help cure a child’s problem without having to get surgery or be on medication. The idea behind it is that if the issue is fixed or removed then the body will go back to doing what it was doing, and grow how it is supposed to grow.
